hey guys plis list out some of your fav, christian metal bands here. i listen to all heavy stuff like death metal, thrash, speed metal, gothic, etc.. i m trying to find out out christian bands playing this stuff. i must say that this genre of music is very cool with greeat vocals an guitaring, but mostly they are dedicated for the darker side, so why should the devil have allthe good music?
here are some of my fav. though not neccesarily in order
1. Stryper.. one of my fav bands, they rock and is awesome. listen to songs like Calling on you, the way, to hell with the devil, and slow songs like Honestly, always there for you and you'll know why it tops my list.
2. Whitecross-- great vocals, great lyrics, great guitaring everything is just great abt them
3. Bloodgood-- songs like Messiah is a classic and an anthem to the metal lovers. they are the closest to the death metal genre playing christian songs.
4. Narnia-- another cool band with lot of great guitaring rifts and solos and awesome vocals, a cross b/w stryper and whitecross but much heavier.
5. Gaurdian- another great vocals and heavy bands and lot of varioation with soft accoustic and pleasant songs in betewwnn.
6. Whiteheart- though not a metal bands they play some cool songs
7. Petra... another great rocking bands, none of there songs are boring, all songs cannot be rule out.
8. trying out new bands like mortification, divine symphony, tourniquet.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS IN Mylon Lefevre & Broken heart their music really rocked the band has not been together for years, but you can still get the music on Mylon Lefevre's website. VHM is a local band in the Phila. area, you can find them at www.vihband.com or www.sterlingkoch.com

I like GS-Megaphone. I only have their CD "Beatiful World" so I know if their older stuff is good or not.

Demon Hunter: Because no other band has such monster riffs, great lyrics, and a vocalist who can sing and growl.
Disciple: Easily the best Christian band ever, they have the most "Christian" lyrics of anyone.

Try Evanescence, at least the band members are Christian!

Here's a few more bands that you can listen to:

Sacred Warrior - I listened to this band a lot back in the early 90's.

Angelica - Dennis Cameron was the guitar player. (He's really good - he played for at least one of Michael Sweet's solo tours.)

Magdallen - Lanny Cordola on guitar. Hands down, this guy was one of the best Christian guitar players around. (Oddly enough, he was friends with one of the actors on the TV show Full House, so he would show up as one of the band members during the series.)

Novella - They were more hard rock than heavy metal, but they were quite good.

There were lots other metal bands around the late 80's and early 90's. Bands like Barren Cross, Holy Soldier, etc.
